Description
Due to popular demand we will be running longer, accredited courses from our brand new, purpose built training centre. This NVQ level two qualification is recognised nationally by employers and insurers and will give you a good basis to start working in the industry, or as a voluntary bicycle mechanic. The training is accredited by one of the leading UK training provider bodies, and is equivalent to a 4-5 level at GCSE.
There are nine full days (70 hours) of teaching in the course, with additional materials provided for independent study. We teach this course to small groups of up to six.
We will cover replacing braking systems, and gear systems, replacing hub bearings and headsets, replacing bottom brackets and cranksets, building a wheel, preparing frames and forks for assembly amongst other skills. These skills must be demonstrated to achieve the qualification, but there are a range of further modules including servicing headsets and hub bearings that we aim to cover if students are able to.
We provide all tools and equipment needed, as well as tea and coffee.
The full cost of the course is £900. A deposit of £300 will secure your place, which is refundable up to 30 days in advance. We will collect the balance four weeks before the course starts. Three level one modules are necessary to attain the level two qualification. If you want to go straight to level two please let us know so we can arrange teaching and assessment of these modules.
