Cycling UK funded activities




We have received funded to deliver free training courses and learn to ride events to the public as part of Cycling UK’s Big Bike Revival. For some of these events we are taking a small deposit to secure a place – but this will be refunded when you attend. If you are not able to make this payment for whatever reason please drop into the shop and we will book you on there.

You can find descriptions of the different courses and activities below.

Bike Kitchen

Come and fix your own bike in our workshop under expert supervision. This event is free – we take a £5 deposit to secure your place which we will refund on the day. If you are not able to make this payment please drop by the shop to book in.

We will allocate a minimum of one hour in a work stand for every attendee.

Learn to Ride

For people who can ride a bike but lack confidence. Come and build your confidence with handling and awareness from our friendly and experienced staff. Meet at the tennis courts in Cotteridge park.

Learn to Fix

This two hour course will teach you the basics of identifying problems and fixing common faults on your bicycle.

Ride to town

Are you keen to start commuting, but lacking confidence? Or do you want to meet other local cyclists? Meet at our shop at 9:30 where we will check your bike over, then we will ride into town along National Cycle Route 5, stop in town for a coffee (paid for) and ride back along the Bristol Road ‘blue route’ with the support of our experienced ride leaders.
