Appointment only for essential work

Posted 07.04.2020

From 7th April Birmingham Bike Foundry operates by appointment only. We have decided that we will only carry out essential repairs and retail. You will no longer be able to drop your bike off at the shop, or buy components without a prior appointment. You can book an appointment by calling the shop on 0121 459 7276 in our opening hours.

Essential repairs include work on bikes which are being used by key workers to get to and from work, or needed to collect food and essential items for a household or vulnerable people.
We have taken these steps to enable us to keep key workers and those who have a real need for transport moving, whilst reducing the risk of spreading infection.
We have not taken this decision lightly. Concern for the community is one of the co-operative principles and we have been led by this in putting these measures in place. Bikes are important and we recognise how useful they are for people when social distancing. When we can reopen for other work we will still be here to offer the same service we have given customers in our community for the last ten years. We thank you for your forbearance at this time.
Our members are involved in a variety of solidarity organisations which are able to provide support and advice during this crisis.
